2018 Bio:

Steve Malik is the chairman and owner of the North Carolina Football Club. NCFC is the largest youth to pro soccer club in the country. In addition to 14,000 youth players at every level including USSF Development Academies, there are men’s and women’s (NC Courage) professional soccer teams based in the Triangle. Malik serves on the board of directors of the U. S. Soccer Federation.
Steve Malik is also a visionary entrepreneur with three decades of health information technology experience as a pioneer in patient centric mobile apps, patient portals, and electronic health records. Currently, he is Executive Chairman of Medfusion, a Cary, NC company he founded in 1996 and re-acquired from Intuit in August 2013.
Steve has held senior leadership positions in publicly traded companies and ownership equity positions in several entrepreneurial firms. He maintains a venture investment portfolio of southeast US companies focused on health IT and “green” technologies.
Malik earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is proud to have endowed both an athletic scholarship where he maintains close relationships with UNC’s men’s and women’s soccer programs as well as a professorship in Entrepreneurism. He is actively involved on multiple boards and work groups for the University.
